Drainage

Standing water is not only an eye sore, it also can be a serious hazard to your home’s foundation and surrounding landscape. Shoreline Irrigation is experienced in a wide range of drainage solutions guaranteed to get the job done.

Signs of Poor Landscape Drainage

  1. Standing Water
  2. Mulch or Soil Erosion
  3. Flooded Walkways or Driveways
  4. Foundation Cracks or Water Stains
  5. Sump Pump Running Constantly

Below are three types of landscape drainage solutions, all of which can be deployed in singularity, or in conjunction with one another to help put water in its place.

Gutter Downspout Drains

Diverting water out and away from your home’s foundation is a TOP priority for every homeowner. Rainwater runoff is a serious problem with various negative effects, such as soil erosion, foundation damage, and foundation settlement.  These issues can eventually lead to basement/crawlspace flooding, damages to nearby landscaping, and costly repairs. A professionally installed 4-inch downspout drainage system is an effective solution to combat these issues and go a long way in protecting your biggest investment.

French Drains

Whether its actual standing water or just an area of the lawn that is constantly moist, we can fix that. A professionally designed and installed french drain system is the single most effective solution to rectify these issues when they occur over a larger area within a landscape. French drains are larger systems that are able to catch water at the surface level and the subsurface level when water collection is needed over a much broader area.

French drains are trenches filled with perforated pipe and gravel, or gravel-free alternatives that run through the most problematic areas of a lawn or landscape. These systems act as a path of least resistance for standing water and allow for water to be rerouted to a new area of discharge utilizing a pop-up or a dry well, where water can be distributed more efficiently back into the earth. The best part about french drain systems is that once installed landscaping is restored to its original state and you will never be able to tell there is a drain system below the surface!

Surface Drains

Surface drains, otherwise known as catch basins collect and redirect water at the surface level of smaller problem areas. If you’re having standing water issues in a more concentrated 5×5 or 10×10 area one or two surface drains might suffice over a larger more complex french drain system.
